The Loyalist

The Smyth and The Loyalist is one name, but two Chicago restaurant concepts under the same roof. Run by John and Karen Shields, a seasonal tasting menu is offered upstairs at Smyth and a la carte dishes are served downstairs at The Loyalist. Even an hour before my dinner at The Loyalist, I kept forgetting which was which.

Let’s review.
Smyth – Tasting menu. Upstairs.
The Loyalist – A la carte menu. Downstairs.

This is what we ordered.
