Torre de Campanitx (Torre’ d’en Valles)

☠️ Pirate Towers! 🗡

Defense towers were built all along the coasts of Ibiza, Spain in the 1700s to monitor the activity of unknown ships and pirates. Firewood was stored inside to light bonfire signal that would warn others to seek refuge at a nearby church.

We saw one of these defense towers on the map while driving around so we decided to get as close as we could. The rocks didn’t make it easy to hike in sandals and flip flops. The struggle was real but the views were magnificent.

Trying to keep up with Andras.
