Snaggletooth [closed]

Snaggletooth is a special place. It’s a small neighborhood cafe-deli with a coffee shop feel that isn’t open for dinner. Their seafood-focused menu changes almost daily and is dependent on what they decide to make that day but will always serve these two items: bagels with schmears and cured fish.

They cure their fish using a special technique by first wrapping it in cheesecloth, adding salt, spices, and citrus juices then pressing it for 1-5 days. Upon removing the cheesecloth, the fish never has to be rinsed, the flesh remains pristine and most of the moisture is drawn out. The result is a gift from the ocean that melts in your mouth releasing various spices and a distinct citrus brightness.
