Imperial Lamian

Lamian hand-pulled noodle, minced pork, spicy pork broth, black garlic, truffle oil, shiitake, wood ear mushroom

Imperial Lamian comes out of Jakarta and they currently have over 40 successful restaurants in Indonesia. The Chicago location is their first export restaurant and delivers balanced Chinese flavors, using high-quality, fresh ingredients.

Having previously lived in San Francisco, Seattle and visiting Vancouver and Vegas often, where even the random strip mall Chinese joints can impress, I don’t care for the Chinese restaurants in Chicago that everyone raves about. Over the years, I have even learned how to cook Chinese food to get close enough to the flavors I expect, but I’m slow and can only cook one or two dishes at a time. Imperial Lamian is a place I will revisit when I don’t want to cook and want quality Chinese food.
