Québec City is rich with history. The fortified wall remains, encasing Old Québec from the rest of the city. There are cobblestone streets, menus and signs in French and the sophistication and charm of any European city except you are a stone’s throw from the United States border. Our dollar is strong, hotel rates are quite reasonable and it’s a walkable city where you can be safe even late at night. Why had I not heard of Chicagoans going to Québec City, Canada before?
Arriving the first night at dinnertime, we had three nights and two days to explore what our friendly neighbors to the north have to offer. The enticing of Québec City is place to experience metropolitan French and British influences without the jet lag.

I was too excited to wait until morning so I took a walk in the rain to see Québec City at night.
